Unique Wedding Venues in Chicago: Rehearsal at Wrigley Field’s Club 1914
When I first got the inquiry to shoot a wedding rehearsal at Wrigley Field, I thought—wait, the Wrigley Field? The iconic home of the Cubs? The bride confirmed it with a smile and even mentioned that their names would light up the famous Marquee.
At that moment, I knew this wasn’t just any shoot. It was my second wedding inquiry since deciding to step into the wedding world, and as a baseball fan, I couldn’t believe my luck. This was the kind of once-in-a-lifetime experience photographers dream of.
Walking into the American Airlines Club 1914 for the first time was unforgettable. The couple had the entire space reserved just for their rehearsal dinner. The stadium was closed, completely quiet, and for a moment it felt like we had the whole legendary ballpark to ourselves.
The room itself carried a 1920s charm—elegant, high-scale, and located underneath home plate with steps away from an incredible view of the field. The couple leaned into the baseball theme in the most thoughtful way: personalized Cubs jerseys, creative goodies for their guests, and little touches that made the night feel uniquely theirs.
From behind my lens, I was focused on capturing the mood of the night. The lighting was tricky—no windows and warm tones that could easily overpower skin tones—but with some flash work and adjustments, I was able to balance the room’s golden glow while keeping its charm intact. The challenge only made the final images more rewarding.
The highlight of the night was stepping outside to see the Marquee lit up with the couple’s names. Watching their faces glow with joy as their families cheered was pure magic—one of those moments you know will stay with them forever.
That’s what I love most about weddings: the energy, the laughter, the small but unforgettable details that make every couple’s story unique. Photographing this rehearsal reminded me why I chose this path—because I don’t just document events, I get to celebrate love right alongside the people living it.
If you’re planning a wedding or event in a one-of-a-kind location, I’d love to help capture it. Every story deserves to be remembered.
